New to Church?
Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life - we hope the website helps you find out what you want to know about Woodford Baptist.
Currently, our church building is closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. But we are still gathering every Sunday to worship together as a church family.
You can join us every Sunday morning at 10.30am either on our Facebook page or our YouTube channel.

Key info about the church...
When & where does the church meet?
The church meets every Sunday at 10.30am for our Sunday Service. It helps to get there 10 minutes early to get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.
We meet at the church building in South Woodford. The address is:
Woodford Baptist Church, George Lane, South Woodford, London E18 1LW.
You can see a map on our contact us page.
There is some parking available on the site.
What to expect when I visit the church
You can expect a warm welcome, great worship, an impacting preach and a friendly bunch of people gathering to learn more about God.
Also tea, coffee and biscuits after the service!
What happens for kids at church?
Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the service. The speaker will make it clear where and when children need to go to their programme.
We have a fantastic programme for the kids at church for ages 4-12. All children should be register as you come into the church building and you may need to accompany smaller children to their room until they are settled. Children can expect to have fun playing games, and learning about God in a relevant way.
For babies and younger children we have a creche where you can either stay with you children or leave them. The service is transmitted into the creche, so you can see and hear what is happening in the main service. However, this depends on what is actually happening in the creche on the day.
Is there a dress code?
No! Just wear something comfortable!
Will I be made to feel uncomfortable?
Not at all! We will be welcoming, and you will not be forced to do anything you are not comfortable doing. We want you to feel right at home and enjoy the service. Do join us for a drink after the service to get to know some people from the church.
Will I be asked for money?
We’ve all seen the TV preachers begging for cash, that won’t happen here! We don’t take up an offering (or collection) of money during our services, and we won’t invite you to come to the front to make a donation.
Running a church and paying our staff does take finance, and, like most Baptist churches, we receive no money from the wider denomination, but you will never be put under any pressure from us to give. Members and regular attenders share in the responsibility of financing the church mainly through regular planned giving, or by using offering boxes fixed on the walls inside the church building. If you want to know more about our approach to finances, please email us.
We have more information for you specifically if you...
